Looking at the person in front of you
It’s normal to get excited about new stuff. Like a bee going from flower to flower, we attend classes and workshops, eagerly returning to our healing space and can’t wait to try out new stuff on our friends, family and clients. It’s great, it’s empowering and it feels good to have a backpack full of tools.
As the newness and excitement fades and practical skill and aptitude grows, we need to remember that each client comes to us with their own particular set of circumstances, injuries-old and new, memories and stories. They are a whole universe unto themselves, the center of their own life vortex. And every day is different.
We must look at the person in front of us. What kind of energy came through the door? Happy, sad, agitated? What does their walk and sitting posture tell you? Are they comfortable in their body? Are they in the room with you? Or are they still working on an incident that happened an hour ago or 5 years ago?
As energy workers we must make good decisions about how much and what kind of energy work is best for them today? What can they tolerate?
